I need some knowledgeable advice
I made the following post on the 24th of this month, and I am appreciative for the responses:
Had a short happen somewhere, and the shop had to replace the battery and starter. Turns out that the female connector that plugs into the five prong ignition switchassembly is burned. It's working temporarily, but it is not a good setup by any means. I cannot find the part number for this female wiring connector that plugs into my five prong ignition assembly anywhere on the Paragon or Eckler sites. I would greatly appreciate some help on finding this part so that I can order it for my mechanic. Thanks in advance.
The ending scenario is that all three electrical wiring supply sites will only sell the complete harness for $800-1000. I found the short was in my dead man's anti-theft system and that has been repaired and a rebuild was done with the present pigtail, which will start the car.. I have been told that the 1966 GM cars used this pigtail connection for their ignition switch also. That makes it possible to find one in a '66 GM car in a junk yard if this is true. Does anyone know with reliability if I can find this pigtail in a GM clunker? I appreciate any help.

What's a "pigtail" you are referring to? Maybe post a picture, that would help.
ps ... you don't need to buy a whole harness to get the light switch plastic connector ... there are literally hundreds of us who have changed out the dash harness over the years and kept the original one just in case you need a connector down the road. I'm sure if you post a request in the Parts Wanted section, you'll have a few people offer to sell you their old one to get you going.

You now have three posts on the same issue including this one. You need an ignition switch connector housing for your 66.

One post is all you need with good information.
If you would post pictures of your exact part you are looking for we could stop guessing what yours looks like and maybe be some help.

I'm surprised someone on here doesn't have an old harness they changed out for new with that plug. When I changed out my harness on my 66, I cut most of the plugs and connectors off and kept them for spares. I will look to see if I kept that one.

If you bothered to check, a photo of said pigtail has been posted twice, and I DID NOT make the same request TWICE. One time was asking how to find this connector, and the SECOND time was asking if all 1966 GM products had the same connector that I am looking for. TWO DIFFERENT POSTS ASKING FOR DIFFERENT INFORMATION.

It looks like I didn't keep the ignition plug off my old harness. I cut off mostly 1 and 2 contact connectors which was probably short sighted on my part. But I would think someone on here has an old harness or two laying around and could fix you up. You may need to start a new thread and in the subject line mention you are looking for a used plug from an old harness.
