I rebuilt the steering column last year and I am still having small problems. I put in a new turn signal switch. I thought I had everything lined up but when I turn to the right the switch cancels correctly. When I turn to the left the switch will cancel with any movement of the steering wheel. I've pulled it apart at least 4 times trying to get it to work correctly but no success to date. Has anyone run into this type of problem besides me???? If so, how is it corrected?
Another problem that I am having is if I put any pressure on the steering wheel the horn will blow. I have the steering hub down as far as I can crank it but it still seems that the hub is not holding the upper bearing and switch in place enough to stop a flex in the hub/shaft combination. Anyone had this problem and if so, how did you fix it??? Thanks.
