Default Intake Manifold Pattern Numbers

So out of years-long storage I dug out a 3782783 manifold I’d like to use on a project. The pattern number is “GM2”. I’ve seen these manifolds with both a “GM1” and this “GM2” designation cast into them. What’s the functional or application difference between these pattern number parts/castings?

Casting date is K 2 5 (November 2, 1965?).

The GMX, where X = a number from 1 to ?? that indicates the individual pattern sequence number for a serialized part (like your manifold). It means nothing, in other words.

That is as I understand it. It has nothing to do with the casting date. I have four abc heads with the GM pattern numbers of 1, 2, 5, and 7, IIRC.
