I have one on our '64. I'm 6'5" tall and I can see out of it fine and I have it adjusted to see cars in the blind spot. My wife is 5'7" and she can't see a thing out of it.
I can understand the installation of a right side mirror on a coupe, but not so much on a convertible. I considered it for my conv, but 75-90% of my driving is with the top down. Dennis
Being in the auto industry my entire life, and dealing with the balance of styling, safety, and keeping with federal regulation requirements, I think they look really odd without a passenger side mirror. That being said, I do not have one on mine. I want one, although I couldn't see myself drilling into my door, & I am not sure they make one with the correct convex shape, and I am too OCD to possibly put one of those stick on convex shaped mirrors on the ones I have seen offered.

I made this little thing with an inexpensive 2” adjustable convex mirror and a plastic clip my wife had on the refrigerator. I only use it when I have the top up.
Zoom in on the photo and you can see the front of my CRV which is in my blind spot.
Even with LH and RH side mirrors on my daily driver, I still look over my shoulder before changing lanes...it's how I was taught to drive. I have zero use for a RH mirror on my '67 coupe... I trust my vision more.

I agree completely that seeing over your shoulder is better then looking into a mirror.I always do both. The main reason I’m thinking of a right side mirror on my vette is more for backing out of my two car garage with the third car behind the vette and no power steering.
Thanks for all input!

I put a bluetooth wireless backup camera above my license plate for the same reason ... as I was not about to drill holes in the RH door for a mirror. Bill
ps ... Frankie's SWC has one too!

Not being a purist i did put a mirror on my 65 vert and i use it all the time , im used to having it on all my cars and without it i feel uncomfortable , and besides i think it looks more balanced with it there jmo. Before i installed it What i found was on a few occasions is that people will creep up on me and sit in that blind spot just so they can have a look at the car , they dont realize sometimes that it can be dangerous .

They realize it - they just don't give a crap.....like the clowns 3' off my bumper at 60 mph so they can snap a cell phone pic of the rear of the split window.... Last week some gal riding b!tch on a Harley was leaning over completely horizontal hanging onto her boyfriend with one hand snapping a cell phone pic behind me at 50 mph...
Coupes have worse blind spots and I double check before moving lanes to the right....situational awareness helps a lot without the mirror; its rare when somebody 'sneaks' into the blind spot without me knowing they've been approaching me - the "head check" catches those instances...

Ive got to agree with ya on that one frankie , one day im toolin done the road minding my own business and all of a sudden some broad in a beemer pulls up alongside me and blows the horn right in my ear , damn near ran off the road, shes goes by giving me the thumbs up and yells hey nice car ! I was pissed but happy at the same time that some young thing was paying attention to me !
I believe your question was have you installed a right hand mirror on you convertible.
Well I have! Do I use it, Yes.
I installed it correctly, so it's usable. Glancing at a mirror takes you eyes off road far less than turning you head around to check.
Turning your head around is about the same as looking down at you radio, an we all know how many accidents are caused by that.

I hate to dissolution you but she was paying attention to your car.
