Engine Code?

I have a 283 casting number 3737739 with stamping code F9IID ( that is "I' like Ida). I cannot any number anything like this on any website I've searched. Please help.Thanks,

F = Flint
9 = month (Sep)
II = 11 (day) (Chevy used the letter I in place of the number 1)
D = engine code (283, 2bbl, powerglide in a passenger car) A 739 casting is going to be a 1958 or 1959 block
