Default Transistor Ignition

1966 Big Block L36 with transistor ignition. I'm trying to clean up the wiring a bit. Sometime in the past the TI was disabled and converted to points. My questions are two fold. I have included 2 pictures. The T I box that was mounted on the driver side front behind grill had only one wire to a ground on the core support. The rest of the loom ran along the bottom of the core support and went to the passenger side front behind the grill and ended with 5 wires flapping in the breeze. (none connected)

Question 1 - What were these connected to originally? Another wire loom or some other component in front of the core support? (disregard the blue color - paint over spray)
Question 2 - I removed the harness and T I box and am wondering if there is anything else I need to do or remove. or if having these not being connected will effect anything else. I plan on converting the points to Petronix. I have been told the wiring harness is the same for T I cars and non T I cars with the exception of the T I components and wires. Is this correct?
Thanks for the help.

The harness to the K66 TI AMP runs to the coil, distributor, and ignition feed. The AMP, distributor, coil and the harness are the specialized components. Yes, the system merely attaches to the standard harness, I believe on the line they snipped the standard ignition wire and attached a connector to plug into the TI harness ballast wire. K66 is great, I'd rather have that than Pertronix in a C2.

So if I understand correctly this wiring loom should have gone down the driver side of engine compartment rather than across the front to the passenger side. Now that would make more sense as two of the connectors look like the horse shoe shaped ones that would be found on a coil.

I don't have the distributor and if the box needs a rebuild, that and a dist. is pretty pricey. Thanks for the info.

The TI was always a problem right from the start when mine was new 51 years ago.
If you don't want to NCRS it, then trash it and install a reliable after market alternative.
Especially since you don't have the original TI distributor ($$$$$$) why bother?
