What direction do the spinners turn to come off? clockwise or counter clockwise.

Yes.

OK, that was a smart *** answer. Serious answer, though, really is both. One side spins CW to remove the other side is CCW to remove. Which is which depends on which side has the left handed adapters and which has the right handed adapter.

Conventional wisdom is that spinners on the left turn CCW to come off and on the right, CW.

Both the hub adapters and the spinners are identified with which side of the car they're for.

If they are mounted on the intended side, using the hammer to rotate the spinner toward the front of the car on both sides of the car removes them. They have an arrow on them that says "OFF" and should point toward the front when looking down at the top of the spinner. So.......what Jim said above.

I guess you have taken the spinner cap off and taken out the safety pin before trying to take the spinner off.

Do you use a flathead screw to take cap off or is there a different procedure?

Thanks

Using a flat head screw driver works good, pull out the saftey pin and hammer away. Watch that you don't hit the fender !

I use one of these suction cups. You can buy them at any of the vendors, or get a suction cup from a hardware store if you like. Pops them off in one second with no scratches or fiddling.

One other tip PLEASE download and read the instructions from one of the vendors selling knockoffs if you don't have them. The wheel will go over the lug nuts on the adapter TWO Different ways. One is correct, the other will chew up the inside of the wheel holes and come loose. Make sure you put the large holes in the wheel OVER the lug nuts and not over the indexing pins on the adapter. VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

Unless, of course, you have the direct bolt on wheels, then never mind.

Well, I got my suction cup from Virginia Vettes and tried it out The right rear poped off right away but the right front would not move. I noticed the cap
on the rear had a small opening enough for a small screw driver but the front did not. Also, how do you remove the pin? Any special way.

Thanks

Grab it with a pair of pliers and pull it. if you or someone else is already hammered on the spinner and lodged it against the pin you may have to back the spinner away from it a little bit. just look at the hole the pin is in and make it round with the hammer by rotating the spinner slightly

To add to that if I may.. Hopefully it's the Aluminum pin that is used normally. If it is and you can't pull it out ... You can beat the spinner off with your lead hammer. I use the "Mother Thumper" ....http://performanceunlimited.com/cobr...ls/hammer.html

Much better performance and weight..

Some owners have replaced the aluminum pin with a rolled steel pin. That would be harder to remove. You could attempt to beat the spinner of with the steel pin but would require more work. The spinner will cut threads into either one..

Good Luck

The best way is to not put them in to start with. Just put the wheels on like it tells you in the owner's manual.

It's a little late for that. Like asking how can I stop my arm from bleeding and the answer is don't cut your arm in the first place.

Well, I applied the pliers to the pin and my luck, the pin broke flush with the spinner. The other 3 caps did not cooperate with the suction cup. Now, I gotta figure out how to get that pin out. I got the weekend to figure it out.

The pins are just slid in there. they shouldn't be hard to pull out. Did you try the part I said about moving the spinners slightly one way or the other to loosen the pin by making the hole larger? If it's too late for that your only choice is to drill the pin out. If the holes on the adapter and the holes on the spinner aren't lined up to make a circle they pinch the pin and make it hard to pull out.

Just to let you see what I am dealing with. The spot were the pin is as shown on the right upper corner. That little white dot. I tried hitting the spinner with a lead hammer but no luck
yet.

looks like it might need to move counterclockwise very slightly. Looks like it may be hitting against the pin on the upper left of the circle. you should be able to drill that out without hurting the adapter if you're careful.
