Newbie question: How can a person tell the difference between an transistor ignition and a non-transistor system by looking at the engine compartment? Thanks
By looking for the transistor ignition amplifier on the forward side of the radiator support (right or left depended on engines/options); also, the T.I. distributor had two wires (white and white/green) coming out of the base (vs. one small black wire on points distributors), and the T.I. system didn't use a firewall-mounted ballast resistor.
Welcome to the Forum, Larry :seeya Being in Westminster, you had better be careful or the CCC will suck you into their little web every weekend...
I've been closely tracking their escapades. I may not be worthy of that gang. Not sure I can run with those big dogs. They do sound like an enjoyable group though.
You are worthy, I am sure. I am hoping to get out there this fall and expect to spend at least one day on the weekend seeing how good their Bloody Marys really are...
Whoa........Westminster, Colorado. You could be in trouble, Dude..... Denney is right on!!! (He keeps threatening to come out this way, but....well.......the CCC will get him when he does....! :D
Welcome to the Forum from an Arvadan.... You have received the answer to your inquiry from John Z (one of the best on this forum, BTW). Now, you must answer to the CCC (Colorado Corvette Crazies): Tell us about your car....the one you have, or the one you are seeking, or the one you want.... :D We got'cha now!! This Forum can be very addicting, as many will attest.

Blkblt I have a 67 427/390 4spd Lynndale Blue/Black/Black. Got it this summer. It needs a little help, but overall is in decent shape. I have noticed the CCC enjoys an occasional adult beverage, which I have been know to enjoy also. What's the initiation fee for the CCC? :D
Sounds like a nice beast....another BB!!! Outstanding!! Initiation fee???? Beer. Good beer. The stuff that comes in bottles and doesn't say things like "lite" and isn't advertised during sporting events.......
We'd love to see your car and meet you, so I'll keep you posted on the next gathering (we don't do meetings, vote, have officers, do bowling events, wear special shirts, or have rules.....an above average sense of humor is more than helpful, as our "drop-ins" will attest....). :p:
Drop me an e-mail (in my profile) so I have your e-mail address.

Heh,!!!
Can I transfer to the CCC...........I think I fit the Criteria........Free Beer and No Rules. Let me know and I'll dive out to the next alcoholic tune up backfire party..........

Larry you've gone and done it now. It looks like another BB is coming in. Pretty soon we'll have more BB's than SB's. This Sat. just because the weather calls for it, I'll be tinkering with my latest toy (not a vette), and hope to have some CCC's over.
No lift till after the weekend, damn!
Kurt, Steve, John & Lars, Jeff, if you're reading this come on over... say around noon.
Larry, email me at milfax@worldnet.att.net and I'll give you directions.
Viet Nam Vette, Fly on in, you're more than welcome.
The beer will be flowing, and there will be wrenches laying around.
   :D
larry,
Another BB, sounds great. If you like beer and enjoy learning while you work on you vette then the ccc is for you. The only dues we pay are to our livers.
You will have to join us sometime. :yesnod:
