Hi, yes very low.....don't let your friend send any money without good verification that car is real and available....You want the owner to take a picture of the car with a paper showing a recent date....or something to prove the car is where they say it is.
I called on this one and the guy seems legit. The paint needs work. The chips shown are only part of the issue. There is some crazing and cracking (not sure if they impact the body). For this price, I would fly out and pick it up, either driving it home or to a safe location for shipping. You almost can’t go wrong.
Nobody I know would do it but I guess ome are naive enough to bid and pay with out seeing the car in person.
Its not a scam if you can win the bid but go look, inspect, check papers etc BEFORE paying.
He's been buying and flipping cars from ebay and CL for years and knows well what not to do, just has little familiarity with vettes and their values/pitfalls.
I live in the area where the seller says he is from. I have never seen this car, and I see ALOT of midyears here. If someone wants me to put eyes on it, send me a PM, but it depends on my work schedule....

If the birdcage is good and the title/bill of sale is okay, I think that the price is good even if it was originally a small block and it needs a frame.
Wrong motor, paint, flares, body lines. The guy sure is not giving the car away. Go ahead and hit the buy button. If you change your mind and do not want to see it or have it checked out, you can always back out of deal. That's eBay's new policy on car buying. We aim to please.
If legit, it is the right car for someone. Lots of road rash and all of that, but for that price there is little downside. Don't have to worry about experiencing door dings at the local mall with this one. Drive it and have fun. Like someone mentioned, frame and birdcage have to be ruled out before purchase. Back in the 60s, believe it or not, this was deemed a cool car with those flares. You would have paid "up" for that work.

Just looking over the pictures, the BIN price seems right about where it should be. All sorts of mods, odd wheels, weird color that’s all scraped up. If someone likes it, that’s fine, but I would not think “scam” here. Price looks appropriate to me.
