headlight motor fuse location

Default headlight motor fuse location

Would anybody know where the fuse for the headlight motors are in the fuse box
for a 64 coupe, thanks

The circuit breaker is over the kick panel on the driver’s side — there is no fuse.

There are no fuses in the fuse block for the headlight motors - they are fed through a self-resetting circuit breaker mounted on the inboard side of the driver's side hinge pillar.

If they both stopped working suddenly I suspect you have a bad rollover switch contact

Here's a picture of what the circuit breaker looks like. It's mounted up by the driver's side fresh air vent on the kick panel. You should ALWAYS have 12v on both of the connections anytime the battery is connected, key on or off. It's much smaller than it looks in this closeup and it's rating is 40 amps.

I saw that circuit breaker and I thought is was for the power windows, I will investigate tomorrow

If you have factory power windows, the circuit breaker is mounted in the lower square hole, and the headlight motor circuit breaker is moved to the upper hole. About 6" above.

That is according to the '66 AIM.

If you have power windows you should also have 12 volts on both sides of that circuit breaker, so just measure both.
