A Little Off Topic, '55 Nomad.
I know this is a Corvette forum, and I keep busy on here along with my two Corvettes.
Also, I know many of the Corvette Guy's on here have at least one, or more of other collectables.
I recently finished our '55 Nomad, and took it to it's first car show last week.
My Son in Law took the first picture.
I definitely need to tighten up the suspension, but the '67 427/435 Corvette motor really makes this car into quite the hot rod!
I wish I knew how to download a recorded video, as the motor is what makes this car!

Hey Martin,
Thanks for the kind comments.
No, it's Placerville. A nice town in the foothills of the Sierra's, but not nearly as wealthy as Danville. But that's ok too.

Very nice Nomad Pat Must pull nice with that 435. I see a lot of them with LS motors. Nothing like an old school Big Block with trips.

Wow, Pat! As always, you do excellent, detailed, clean work. I'm sorry I didn't get down to Placerville to see the Nomad's debut.

Yes, obviously there is a Corvette out there missing their motor.
As much as I love to keep this in the Nomad, I already have plans to replace it (with a 454). I'm planning to put this one on the stand and look for a '67 Vette to put it in.
Pat
P.S. Will be purchasing our plane tickets soon. I'll PM you with a date and contact number. Hope all is well!

You can put all the Nomads, 57 Chevys, SS Chevelles, 409 cars, etc, on here that you want, and MOST of us will enjoy them!!!
Too bad the CF crowd does not care for old warbirds.

Looks great and you did it yourself. I know it's a lot of work but to me that's more enjoyable as well as the pride you feel when people are looking at your work. They may not know you did it but that doesn't matter. Great job Pat. I'm building a 5 window coupe with a pretty trick little flathead. It's for my buddies wife. This was the very reason I asked for and mentioned being able to post off topic things here. I had to edit my post it was becoming a long rant and I don't want to hijack a great thread.

I love the old flatties in the coupes. I have a friend of mine who has a '40 Ford. He is going to replace the 283 with a 350 of some sort. I keep trying to talk him into a flathead, yet he won't listen!
Also, it is kind of odd, as I do enjoy building them more than driving them.

I'm doing the coupe right in the middle of my C1 but he let me do all of the fiberglass work on my car in his shop. So I gotta do what I gotta do. Not a problem though it allows time for all the glass repair to do what is going to as far as shrinkage. I may tidy up the shop a little and post a few pics. He has a 90s vintage LT1 he was going to use in it and I shamed him into the flathead. After he saw what I was doing to the flathead he didn't want to use it in her car he still wanted to put the LT1 in it and put the flathead in a sedan he has. He says she doesn't care about engines anyway. I said Oh she's gona care when I get finished and everyone is asking about her car.

Have you searched for the 67 Corvette that this motor came out of?

Beautiful car!!!
The Nomad's are one of my favorites. There is one I have seen around the Seattle area a few years back, black in color with the front end from a 53 or 54 Corvette. Talk about COOL....

The motor had been decked and the VIN numbers are not completely legible. The left side of the pad is clearly visible as T0113JE. The right side is not quite as visible. I've searched it, yet have not been successful. Date code on the block is A97.
Unfortunately, it's probably totaled out and long gone by now. Of all places I found the motor sitting on a garage floor. It had been removed from a drag racing boat in the late 70's.

Beautiful build, Pat, on one of my all time favorite cars. You stated that you enjoy building them more than driving them...my hand is raised to drive it anytime you need. And, if you ever decide to sell...call me. Congratulations!!

I think we all love them. I know I do. Problem is, what are the chances of ever owning, operating or even wrenching on one. Realistically, not much. So admire them when you can, then move on. Consider yourself very fortunate.
