Two (2) problems, So here is the situation. 1963 dash lights do not work. Pulled the aftermarket switch and saw some corrosion around the spring part of the switch. So I dug deep in my pockets and went for a NOS switch. Still no interior lights, where do I begin with this problem
2nd issue. Right brake lights dont work, but the tail lights and turn signal does. I know it is usually a ground, I grounded all the lights last fall, I know that could still be the issue, but why would the right turn signal work? The rest of the lights work, just the right brake lights, where do I begin with this issue? The bottom slot on the fuse block had some minor corrosion on the terminals, cleaned that up and put on some dielectric grease. Thoughts?
Dash lights should have their own 3 amp fuse; they do on '65s and '66s. Check that out. RH brake light may be a problem in the turn signal switch. I think on 63s that switch is on the base of the steering column (inside the car). Power for the bright filament on the tail lights for both brake and turn comes through the signal switch.

Correct on all counts. The 63 has the electrical switch at the base of the steering column. Attached to the mechanical section under the horn button by a cable.
Check the cable adjustments at the bottom first thing.
Thanks guys, the tail lights all work. I will check that switch. I know it was recently replaced. Was a little hokey, per the quality of new parts. The inside of the switch came apart. Sent it back I think New York Corvette and they replaced it. It should not have anything to do with the adjustment, but just the connection correct?
My check is to disconnect the cable at the bottom end (mark its position in the clamp)...and, with the ignition key ON move the switch slider to both turn positions manually (YOU are acting as the cable) - if the signals work on both sides the electronics are good and its a cable adjustment or an issue with the mechanicals under the horn button, if one or both sides' signals do NOT work the switch is questionable or the wiring to the lights has an issue...
you need to pay attention to Frankie. The brake light works through the turn signal switch. The turn signal can work fine and still cause one or the other brake light not to work. That's actually the only thing that can cause it.
Here's a test you can use. Turn the ignition key off, put the brake on. Wiggle the turn signal switch and watch the brake light that's not working, you'll see it flicker or come on. Important: ignition off so the turn signals don't try to flash. Your problem is in the turn signal switch.
Agree, but how and the slide portion be an issue? I could see the plug and contacts. Just wondering. Frankie seems to be talking more about the mechanics of the turn signals, maybe I am missing something. Fully agree it is in the signal mechanism, but seems like it would be in the wire or the plug.

There are several sets of contacts inside the switch that have to make and break to switch between brakes and turn signals.. the contact to your right brake light is either bent or corroded or misadjusted. Do what Frankie said and try adjusting the cable to the slide switch first. Did you try what I said with the key off?
Alright guys. Sorry i doubted you. Just didn’t understand. I do now. Just played with the plug. All good now. Next question. Where do i start with the dash lights. Going to look at the schematics and the fuse block to start.
Fixed. Fixed. And fixed. Brake lights. Had to change the temp sending unit. And the light switch ended up being a dirty fuse block. Hit the terminals with a dermal and added some dielectric grease. Comment about installed or dangling. Worked both ways. Thanks guys. She is back on the road. Now i can send her back to dads and get my 79 stepside back
