I agree with the above, but I'll add a couple of things. There is one heater box retainer nut on the far left end of the box that is tuff to get at, With the gauge cluster removed you should see it. When you put everything back and put the hoses on, lube each with a dab of silicone and slide the hoses on. Wrangling them can break the pipe connection into the core. Don't forget a heater gasket rebuild kit. While everything is out consider a wiper gasket and put a dab of grease on the wiper joint. Dennis
I take them all down to this stage of dis-assembly and it's still a PIA to get the heater back in place. Have you considered using a stop leak product. I had a leaky heater core on a daily driver many years ago, used Silver Seal, and it never leaked again for the 5 years I owned it.
