Default removable cross member flange

Cause I had to take out the transmission for replacing the TO bearing anyway, I decided to convert to a removable cross member.
Many threads on the topic. For those who want to go that road, I include here the DWG format flanges that can be used by a metal shop with a CNC machine or laser/high-pressure-water cutter.

this is how I fitted them on the car. The inside is slightly cut oversize , cause I put them slightly inclined ('negative caster') to facilitate removal. The small top hole was threaded, but there was no simple way to put the bolt in place with the small clearance so I skipped that
Still could not find out how to post the DWG file.

That's nice work Alexander. I've had to pull my transmission enough that it's tempting to do that on my car. Guess I'm not a purist but must be a first cousin or I would do so.

I installed the American Powertrain flanges @ 2 years ago . . . real tough to cut the crossmember while the body is on - but we got it done! one of the upper bolt holes is very tight - I could not get a bolt in that hole on either side!

Thanks for the link to the kit, much easier than fabbing up a set!

I would like to obtain a copy of the DWG file you mentioned. Would it be possible to send it to me? -Aaron

Thanks for sending me the CAD file! How wide was the section that you cut from your cross member, and was it equal on both sides as measured from trans mount center line? -Aaron

no dimensions, been a while...Here some picture that give you a flavor of how it's done. There are many other threads on this subject that show where to cut. I recommend to cut slightly tapered (meaning that the bottom cut is wider than the top, to ensure an easy drop-out). So the flanges are welded slightly inclined (not too much otherwise the holes no longer align, say 1/2 inch difference is enough. )

Alexander, I know this is a older post, but I was wondering if you still had the file available to have these made. I'm a newer member and it won't allow me to send you a private message. Thank you!
