Default Why Sunfire Yellow got it's name

I had my car out today on a Fall sunny day and the paint was really glowing in the sunlight - sunfire was a very appropriate name selected for it. Took a few pictures but I have to say they don't really capture the full effect.

That may be the yellow that actually changes color in the sun.
Painters have to bring it out in the sun to get a good match.

Thanks.

If you haven't done so already, the next time you see a Sunfire car out in the full sun, go up and stare into the paint. You won't see your reflection or anything except a near-blinding, dazzling glow. It's kind of like staring directly into a 65 watt-equivalent LED daylight bulb.

Yellow may be a color that a lot of people wouldn't consider...…..until they looked at your car. That is simply gorgeous.

When I went to look at my 66 more than 5 yrs ago, I really doubted that I would want THAT color . I smile every time the sun shines on it & it gives off that glow.

A side note on yellow cars.
The next time you are at a car show, notice all the bugs that they attract!
(true fact! I own a Yellow car.)

I had that feeling when I had my Chevelle painted the original color silver. I thought I would not like it. but the more and more I was around it in all types of light and surroundings the more I felt its the best color for those cars

I had a 68 Barracuda that was a very close yellow that Plymouth also called Sunfire Yellow. I loved it, it was almost iridescent.

I always wondered why there's no metallic in sunfire. I think it would have made if "pop" just like it does with the silver. Bill

I think the Plymouth Sunfire Yellow did have a little metallic, because it did "pop."
