I am not here to defend anyone but if I was going to spend six figures on a 50 year old car where the bulk of the value is placed on roughly one inch by four inch part of a cast iron block I would want some one else eyes on it. maybe we should focus on peoples parents not teaching ethics

All Good
Over 10 years as an NCRS member; its a social club - nothing more....
Being an NCRS judge means a person has reached a certain level of expertise in a skill, it doesn't mean that even long term members treat others decently.
Examples abound.
Frankly though - I wouldn't have shelled out a grand for a certification if I didn't have a non-refundable deposit contingent on a clean bill of health...unless I wanted the certification anyway...
Now that the OP has it, it is still of benefit...

I would be willing to bet that this dirt bag was not a "master judge" or even a NCRS member. Just a typical B.S. artist. There are a few on this forum as well.

I once advertised a very nice Corvette on Craigslist and usedcorvettesforsale.com. A man from South Fla called and asked some questions. I sent him more info and pictures. We agreed on a price $1,000 lower than my advertised price. Over the next few days, I sent him a copy of the title, a bill of sale, and a couple of other items. He e-mailed that he had completed the things needed at the bank and was bringing cash to buy the car. I arranged for a Uhaul trailer locally and an appointment with my bank to notarize and complete the sale. He was to be here Monday morning after driving part way Sunday. I waited at home to meet him to pick up the trailer and go to the bank. I cancelled to ads. Around 10am Monday, I got an e-mail that said " Something personal came up and I won't be buying your car after all. Sorry for the inconvenience" I tried a couple of times to reach him to see if it was anything that might work out, but never heard again. Since that, I will require a non-refundable deposit to make all the arrangements for a non-local sale.
