Default KYB Gas-Adjust Shocks

Anyone ever have a rear set leak fluid after installing them? They have been on the car for a few months but only “ use” is from vehicle weight.

Im about finished with the build and only noticed them when I was underneath adjusting the back up light switch.

Going to check the fronts tomorrow.

Good thing is they show a lifetime warranty on their website.

I have run KYBs on several cars and never had a problem. Verify that the length and travel are the same as stock assuming that your suspension is stock or make sure the shocks will not bottom out or over extend. Good luck

A very slight oil film from deCarbon type shocks is normal, but if they left a puddle on the ground the seal has failed allowing the gas pressure and oil to escape.

Disconnect one end. Gas pressure should force them to full extension. If not, they're likely shot. If they do fully extend, push them to full compression, let go, and they should SLOWLY extend to full rebound.

If the above tests fail you should have a valid warranty claim.

The rear shocks at full extension are the rebound limiters, so it's important that at full rebound they are the same as OE or U-joint grounding can occur, but seal failure won't have any effect on rebound length.

Thanks but was just curious if anyone has had this problem. I have the correct size per suspension set up.

SWC - they both had a drip all the way down the rear shocks.

Already have a replacement set coming, they are awesome at honoring their warranty!
