Windshield Post
In process of restoring my windshield assembly for my May 28, 1958 Corvette. Before I send my windshield posts off for tab repair and then for chrome plating, I want to make sure I have the "correct" posts. My windshield post part numbers are 3716385/3716386 (w/o sun visor); however, the 58 AIM shows part numbers 3762553/3762554. But, I suspect the 58 AIM page showing the latter part numbers is the 59 release redrawn page which is only for the addition of sun visors for 59 production. Did 58 and 56-57 all use the 3716385/3716386 windshield posts?

The only difference in the 58 posts from the rest, is the tapped hole for the outboard sun visor mount. Any of the late posts will work, because the correct stainless header cover will have no weld nuts in the center, and no holes on the outboard side, so it will cover the hole in the post (if there is one). My point is, if you have the correct header stainless, the post doesn't matter. (56-58 used this molding)

Mike, I want you to know that I highly regard any response you make on the forum. Tried to take a picture of my header and my phone just went ###???. My header stainless has four screw holes which correspond to four brackets on the inner header piece and no weld nuts anywhere in sight. Guessing I have all the right stuff? Thank you. Bill
