Believe your cars are in the same area as mine were. Its attached to the main building towards the back. No problem with rain in there. They took the car from there out the side door & drove them to the line to the auction entrance which is a long way. That could be a problem if it is raining if you don't have a top. Cars are wiped down before they go inside the staging tent.

I'm looking at the forecast on the Weather Channel and it says it is going to rain today and tonight, but only a 10 percent chance of rain Wednesday and Thursday, and a 20 percent chance on Friday. Hopefully if it rains on Friday it is just a light sprinkle. Keeping the polished aluminum clean is not easy and one bad rag can really scratch up the finish. I packed my own supplies and I don't plan on letting anybody else touch them. I know those employees are just doing their job, but they will wipe down wheels on one car and then use the same rag to wipe down the paint on the next car that rolls up.

GOOD make sure you are with the car from the time they drive it out of the tent & into the auction. You can tell them NOT to wipe it down at all & do it yourself rain or shin. Good luck with the3 sale I will be there helping a friend that has 5 cars going thru. I will stop by & maybe we will be there the same time. KEN

Can I ask what you expect them to fetch at the auction?.....do they have a reserve on that one? I would always be too afraid to auction my cars off. Many variables involved like bad weather, crowd turn out, day your car gets to the podium, and the skill of the auctioneer.
Anyway that's me.....good luck with the auction....outstanding cars.

I need quite a bit for them to even break even(not including any of my time, of course). It's a no reserve auction, so what will be will be. All I can do is try to talk to the right people and advertise my cars as best as possible. I spent $300.00 on brochures i made, so hopefully that will help. I just hope people realize that some of the "restomod" Corvettes selling in prime time slots on Saturday are not actually restomods.

What day & time are your cars going thru? I do understand what you are going thru. I sold my cars that I had a lot of money in them & I did Ok. 200,000.00 was a lot of money to me but I believe that the BJ auction is the best place for nice well done cars. Will keep my fingers crossed & you just have to trust the cars to speak for themselves
The second link is the 1965 289FIA Kirkham Cobra, which is lot 1085. I don't have an enormous amount of time in this build, but it certainly took longer than I thought and I ended up with way more money in it than i anticipated. Kirkham now sells their rollers, with zero options in a filed finish for $100,000. They are works of art though. The polished aluminum takes a lot to keep up with, but the upside is that you never have to repaint the car.

I know! I have no idea how they got selected for prime time on Saturday and put in the show case area and I did not. My good friend Sean is currently at the auction and said he didn't understand why they did not select my car for Saturday. He said a large majority of the "restomods" in prime time spots for Saturday are pretty rough looking.

Sometimes it's who you know. Since it's been a while since you sold there I'd make sure your consignment guy sees your car. Track him down and walk him around car. Tell him that's the caliber of all your builds so next time you call him he remembers. Those consignment guys get a % of what it sells for.

Wouldn’t surprise me if there was some “pay to play” going on - even before the buyers and sellers premiums.......
