I’m getting ready to pull the engine and tranny from my ‘64 coupe. The new engine moves the alternator to the driver side to make way for an A/C compressor. The alternator was already “upgraded” to an internal regulator model and there will be some other upgrades. Plus, some of the wiring is very suspect with unknown wires bypassing the firewall connector via the tach drive cable grommet, some crispy wires and aftermarket cheap connectors.
Does anyone have a source for an engine harness that plugs right in to the firewall connector that reconfigures the alternator to the left side and eliminates the external regulator?
M & H also makes great harnesses. Can't go wrong with either company. Look for the best price. I also upgraded my three cars to internal voltage regulators, One less thing to worry about. Jerry
wouldn’t think of it. And why are you running around on a 50 year old harness that was designed for a less than 20 year life expectancy? Isn’t your pristine classic Corvette worth a couple hundred dollars in safety upgrades? Heck, I carry a fire extinguisher in my C6. You just never know.

only in my Chevelle and dads unrestored 67. One of these days I will replace the engine harnes in my Chevelle. But right now I have no electrical gremlins.
Lectric Limited seems to be the go to in this case as they have the exact harness with external regulator delete, aftermarket A/C and alternator on the driver side for the best price.
