I bought my ‘57 from Jim. He was finishing this car when we’re putting together the deal. This re-creation was a car that Bob Bodurant (ex Cobra hot shoe) drove at LeMans. Bondo could really throw a car around the track. I believe he secured the win for Shelby, driving one of the Daytona Coupes, for the World Manufacturers Championship in 1965 at Le Mans.

So, any bets on what it goes for given it is a no reserve auction?

I have watched very little of the auctions this year so I cant' guess what it will go for, but for those who have been watching, has there been a lot of race cars or cars like this? If so, how much have they gone for?
As you have been watching the action are you saying, Holy P&*P cars are going for a TON of money this year or are you saying, hey that was a reasonable number....

Thanks guys for the encouraging comments, I built the car and it is bad to the bone, absolutely wicked and ferocious. I am running open headers across the block later today. Going to rattle some windows.
Bob and Pat Bondurant stopped by to see the car yesterday and Bob autographed the display board which will go with the car. He will also be with the car later tonight on the block and will hopefully get to say a few words about the car on the podium. He has driven the car at his driving school track, and yes at 85 years old, he is a hoot to be around and loves to talk racing and still knows how to hit the loud pedal. It is an honor to have built this car and have Bob and Pat personally enjoy the car.

Just to be clear, this is a street car, not a track car. I have put a couple hundred miles on it around Scottsdale.

Beautiful car and that autographed glove box door should make it even more desirable. Good luck Jim.
Thinking about sending mine next year.

I can pick up the car for you tonight. The car is beautiful. Looked at it for a long time. My old green 67 is one lot number away from it and parked next to it.

I thought that was your old car.
I want that L88 so bad. It's just done really really well, it's sexy as hell, and i would love to buy new rear tires for it on a weekly basis. It just is AWESOME......................
