JIM! I thank you for your advice , your a good guy but Roy Sinor is some of the reason I left NCRS , he took me off the Discussion forum and the new 53 to 55 judging Manuel as a helper and fined me 12 months from any NCRS meet // I was member #182 I admit I left the judging field to soon and accepted the 12 months fine , but what they also did sent me packing // that organization is not for me anymore. I showed my 55 two times only .
Yes I figured that was probably the case. They just come with a document from the US Government that you use to obtain a title in your state. Let's say that is a real L88. What will it be worth without original motor, lots of body and frame work and no tank sheet? And a reproduction trim tag.
The previous owner, Richard Scott, seems to have been looking for bargains in the high end car market. The black Ferrari F40, also up for auction, has a similar history to this L88 Corvette. The original owner gave it to his mechanic and the mechanic wrecked the car against a fence. Then the TV Show "Fast and Loud" bought the wreck for cheap and fixed it for the TV show (you can see the restoration on you tube) The car has been changing hands ever since and the price has been dropping every time by $200,000. An unmolested Ferrari F40 is worth around $1,000,000 but this very molested F40 I doubt is worth $500,000.
IMO, which is just an opinion, I wouldn't pay $200K for this car because when it comes time to sell it you are going to have this convoluted story, with a car that changed hands a bunch of times, with no documentation,a nd fake trim tag and non-original motor and a bunch of people that added their own story onto the car over the years, and unless you can prove SN whatever the car has came with an L-88 from GM documentation build records and also have an original frame with original SN that matches the VIN tag (must be original without question), the car could have been anything in its past, and most potential buyers will say Uh huh, sure, I'll get back to you.

It would be in the best interest of the jailbird ex-owner to produce the tank sticker since the sale of his cars is being applied towards his $12.6 million restitution judgment.
He should provide them to the Feds so that they can be sold together with the car. He can also try to sell them to the new owner under the table after the auction and have some funds available for commissary while at club Fed. I can only imagine the new owner searching high and low for that tank sheet.
