Default Adding Booster '67---Line Length

Putting a booster on my manual brake '67------if I can get the 52 year old plug out of the intake.

My question is will the stock brake lines give enough to put the master cylinder in it's new position?

Thanks!

Not sure if this will help but this is what I did. My 66 had manual brakes that I wanted to convert to booster. I installed the booster and the new dual chamber master which came with the distribution block (with the brake warning sensor). The kit included the two short lines that connect the master to the block which lived beneath it. It also came with a new cross-member distribution block. The OE block accepted the single line from the OE single chamber master and diverted the fluid in three directions (two front and one for the rear). The new block eliminated the aft take off. I built a new line to connect the front MC chamber to the new cross-member block for the front brakes. I found that the OE rear brake line was now long enough to carefully reshape it vertically and that it was just long enough to mate up with the rear MC takeoff. Careful shaping and it will not interfere with the clutch linkage. So far it works just fine.

So now that I re-read your question it dawns on me that the 67 already has a dual master and what I gave you is irrelevant. My bad.

Thanks for the info C2Dude. That's some good stuff to know and someone going to a dual res might run across it here.

I do not believe they will. You can buy a new section or brake line for the front or shorten the existing one, but may have to splice in a piece for the rears or run a new front to rear line.

If you splice, use Parker or Swadgelok industrial rated fitting(s), or flare the tubing and use a flare coupling.

I have done this a couple of years ago and can confirm they won't reach. I did as Larry mentioned and extended the pipes using a flaring tool etc.
