[C2] Choose '67BB Coupe or '63 SWC 340hp
#23
Definitely a tough choice and one I also had to make. I ended up getting both and love them both. When it comes to driving the ‘67 big block is better mainly because of the four wheel disc brakes. If you get factory side exhaust that’s a bonus in my opinion.

My ‘67 L79 had a BB hood on it before restoration. Since the second owner bought it with it on in 1972, the original owner must have swapped it out. Car looked great with it. If I was the one that restored the car, I would have kept it on. I still might do it if I could find a nice reasonably priced original.
What dictated the color of the hood?

not your quote Pat, I meant to attatch the pic of the L88, that's pure sex on wheels.

There is a good reason why first model year vehicles have more issues or unique parts than later or last model year of that body style. Given you are not concerned about originality, either could work. That said, I’ve never had a bigger grin while accelerating than when there was a BB under the hood. An assault on all five senses, ‘67 BB coupe all the way!

If I ever do a Tribute.... it will be MUCH like the above. And my BB gives me and my passenger the torque induced grins and thrills I bought it for. If I owned both and had to sell one it would be the SWC (but I don't). My fun comes from that beast which is WAY outside the rest of my mundane life. What a glorious dilemma you have. How can you do wrong.

The '63 is certainly a very special car, but a BB wakes up all of your senses, and it would get my vote.
