Why not just buy the upcoming C8 Mid engine coming in 2020 and spare the Midyear?

I am hoping to use a repro body , I have the chassis almost done . the new c8 will be way out of reach in my Canadian $$

Exactly! Why spend all the time and money engineering something like this when you can buy a new one that has been several years in development? If you want on in a C2 body wait a couple of years for a wreaked 2020 buy it and modify a C2 body to fit the wrecked car.

Well, if you are that far along I assume you are planning on using one of these?

https://customimagecorvettes.com/pro...replica-coupe/

OR maybe a Grand Sport body?

Go for it.
Looks like a great project.
I know Zora wanted one.
I'd like to see the results.

Zora may not have got the mid engine, but they did do a good job moving it right back behind the front axle. This is what the weight distribution of a midyear looks like with an LS3 :

The stretched body lines are an acquired taste, much like the E-type 2+2 (a taste I never acquired).

Yeah, those Jag coupes just look strange. The stretched Corvette coupe body I could live with.

Very nice. I like those more than the latest Ford GT. 2 friends of mine have an 05 and 06. Great looking cars and great performers. Worth more than when they were new.

Lots of room in the front for a trunk.
