Engine Suffix Code
I'm confused, the below stamp broken down:
3 = Year
103516 = VIN
F = Flint
I0 = October
29 = Date
SC = 1962 327 Vette - Powerglide 250hp 4 bolt
The vin stamp points to 1963 but the SC says 1962
It's a "870" block
Does anyone have better breakdown of the "SC" code. I looked at about 5-6 sites and all were 1962 Vette.

According to the LIME BOOK found in the stickies at the top of the C1/C2 forum (and free to download):
SC 62 327 250 4B,PG CORV
SC 63 327 250 4B,PG CORV
SC 64 327 250 4B,PG CORV

I know you did not ask this, but the unevenness of the engine assembly stamp and the VIN derivative leads me to wonder about the authenticity of the stamps.

If the pad is genuine, and I'll defer to others on that topic, that's an engine for an early production '63 Vette. And BTW, there were no 4 bolt 327s

Somebody went through a lot of trouble to FAKE a 250HP block that isn't even in the original Vette.
