Typically they come with one set of numbers, such as this...
The second set of numbers were likely placed there by the installer of the engine. Do they by any chance have any relationship to the vehicles' VIN?
Good luck... GUSTO

The stamp "looks" like CE7P24779
That decodes as follows:
CE - Chevrolet Engine
7 = year (1967)
P = ??? (I have also seen the letter 'N' used on 1967 CE engine, not sure what that letter means)
24779 = sequence number (24,779th CE engine)
The following system will be used to identify service engine and transmission assemblies* including replacement parts. Manufacturing plants will number each assembly as it is produce. The first letter will designate the GM division which produced the engine.
C-Chevrolet L-Oldsmobile K-Cadillac B-Buick P-Pontiac
The second letter will designate the type of unit "E" engine or "T" transmission.
The number following the letter will designate the model year "9" for 1969. The last five digits specify the service replacement unit sequence number.
1967 CE engines also have a letter after the year indicator. The definition of this letter is unknown at this time.
Note: The CE engine designations started in 1967.

Here is a good article on this subject that shows some pictures of the stamps.

Older thread but has anyone seen a CE code with 3 Letters to start the run?
Also many refer to the 1969 service bulletin which says sequential CE #'s 00001-19999 are Flint produced V6's, where as this is a V8.
