Don't use the reproduction china made trim clips, they are too flimsy and the trim won't stay snapped in pace. I didn't know any difference until i received the US made ones. We ended up having to pull the glass back out and replaced all the clips because the trim was popping lose on the outer corners.
I just used the rope method with a new gasket to install the glass. Easier to have someone helping you and to push on the glass as you pull the rope out.
Please do your home-work on this. Search the forums; especially from forum member Dub. His recomendation is to not use the 3M Bedding and Glazing compound. His recomendation is to use the C R Laurence 7708. I installed my windshield 4 1/2 years ago by my self. I used the 3 M stuff. Developed a leak and had to dig out the old 3 M that had hardened. Unable to get the CRL 7708 here in Hawaii.
Had to get creative. Do not forget to seal between the glass and weather-strip on the outside. GoJo original hand cleaner on the rope and good for cleanup. Lots of blue tape Use too much sealant along the bottom and you will fight the lower moulding installation. Use the shop manual and the AIM. This job is not for the "feint/faint of heart. Let us know how it goes. I am still working on mine. Last step for me is to get some "flowable" silicone between the glass and rubber.
