Default Upper defrost vent?

Hello!
Am I missing something?
I can’t seem to find one of these anywhere.
Top of the center dash. Shouldn’t there be a defrost vent there or just a black hole?
If you have one, let me know!
Thanks!
-Jimbo

I have one out of my 65. But, it looks like it is there to me. Look up there and make sure.

I know the black duct is there. Wasn't sure if there should be a grill or something over it.
Thanks

Pretty sure that's the way it should be. Mine is. And the bottom end of it where it connects to heater box will have about a 1 inch gap too. I fabbed up a thin plastic flexible sleeve to fit around mine to close that gap. Now it really throws the defrost heat out! I remember JohnZ mentioning the gap is normal. Seems like a part is missing but it isn't.

Thanks - I never knew that! You probably saved me from going bonkers when I get to putting mine together again.

I used black duct tape for mine. Quick and simple.
