I applaud your ambition and hope you are enjoying doing your own work. However the time it takes reinforces my decision to buy a nice original or done car rather do a project at my age. I have had a least 1 1/2 years to enjoy driving it vs. waiting for one to be done..
You are doing a nice job, good luck.

Wow. Sure does not seem like a year. I admire your perseverance. I got mine not quite a year ago yet. I finally got back on it last week. (After all summer is coming). Hope to get a lot of shake down miles on ol blue this summer and then strip for paint next year. Still have not decided on the frame off part yet. I have really enjoyed your thread.

IMCO I think that's great progress in a year when doing it all yourself especially to that level of detail. I hope you are a head of schedule and within your self imposed budget and time frame. Keep the updates coming.

It truly does not seem like it's been a year already. So much accomplished, so far. You're going at this like an old pro. Great job, Chris!!

Really amazing progress, Chris, and great choices on what to take on yourself vs. farm out to others. Well done!

Nice job. Since I don't farm out any work on a restoration, I always admire those that do their own work instead of paying others to do it. Some of us get as much, or even more, pleasure in building the car than driving the finished product. The last 3 cars I've built had less than 100 miles when I sold them. Different strokes for different folks.

Thanks all. I’m sure Don and Holt will be driving before me and I know Nowhere man will have his done soon as well. It doesn’t seem like a year and I have tried to do as much as possible myself with my son, but we don’t have some of the tools, welder or paint booth. We did strip the paint and carpet glue and slalomfiend did my welding. I wish I had the room and tools to do and learn more but maybe on the next one.

I like those jacks as well. I have a 9 foot ceiling but with the garage door up it’s more like 7 feet. Tried to talk the wife into selling the house and buying a shop with a bedroom attached but she didn’t go for it. Lol.

Very nice work and tremendous progress. I am in the middle of a resto too,and doing less of it myself than you and I am almost two years in, so I can really appreciate your timeline.

Excellent job on the car! Enjoy every minute of your build.
