Were any changes made to the front carburetor, other than removing the choke, in a 56-61 dual set up? Did the front carb retain idle circuits? Can any Corvette WCFB be converted to a front carb.?
The choke on original Corvette WCFB front carbs was not removed - it never existed - the way to check for a front carb "clone" is to see if there are plugged holes for the shaft for the choke plate - a giveaway..
Yes it has an idle circuit and if you look at the service manual it tells you how to adjust idle speed and mixture for BOTH carbs in a dual quad setup...
Nearly any single carb WCFB can be "dialed in" to work up front - there are many cars running around with that setup.

Well done clones will have counterweights changed for the dual quad setup and often metering rods and jets.

Having said all that there was one application I read about where BOTH carbs had chokes but memory is dim - Cadillac ? Buick ? I don't recall.
