Default Looking For Information

Looking for any info on a '65 convertible, VIN 194675S107165. 327/350 with transistor ignition and positraction. I'd love to find any documentation. Help appreciated.

I assume this is a car you own? If so, your best shot is to try and locate previous owners. They may have some documentation, pictures, and memories to share. I sold my T/A Challenger a few years ago, and the current owner was able to find me. I, in turn, was able dig up info on the guy I bought it from in 1982 and current owner located him.

Unfortunately, GM kept essentially no records of these cars, so all that is left is the summaries of what was built, i.e., numbers of each type, colors, options, etc. If the car was originally sold in Canada, the records are apparently better. As said above, if you can find prior owners your odds are improved. Also unfortunately, privacy misuse and resulting constraints on privacy data has resulted in almost no access to old DMV records unless you have LEO access and I think that may even be problematic if done for the wrong reasons, but who knows for sure. There are services you can hire that research car lineage, but I know nothing about them. Sometimes you get lucky by doing VIN searches on the internet, including Corvette registries - I assume you've tried to look there. Lastly, NCRS has a service where for $40 (I think) they can tell you where your car was originally sold. Good luck - it can be a real needle in a haystack search.

Thanks for the info and encouragement so far. I'm a retired Vet so I have plenty of time to prowl around. I've researched a lot of the sites/registers. I believe that the car originally came out of Georgia, but not sure. The owner who sold it to the guy that I bought it from is deceased, so no help there! I know that this thread was like throwing spaghetti up against the wall, but who knows - maybe something will stick. I've had a bunch of Vettes before. This is just my latest adventure. Maybe something will turn up. Cheers!
