The ...657 block was set up for either small or large journal. For the '67 Camaro-only 350 it was processed for large journals as were all later 350s. 302 and 327 versions were all processed for small journals. This block was a one year only production part. Regardless of journal size all had retainer notches for both small and large journal bearings, so a small journal ...657 can easily be modified in the field for large journal cranks.

The service only ...512 block also had this same feature.

The leading "C" in the VIN derivative stamping says the 327/275hp engine was originally installed in a full-size Chevy Impala (or Caprice) with A.I.R. and Powerglide built at South Gate, California; the South Gate plant closed in 1982.

HF for 1967 is a 327, 275hp, 4bbl, Air Injection Reaction, Powerglide installed in a passenger car
