Default SoCal Corvette Restore

I live in Irvine, CA and have a '63 I would like to restore (bought when I was in the military), but know nothing about the shops around here. Looking for an honest shop to do a good job at a fair price. Enough horror stories out there to know that it's easy to get burned. Any help, recommendations, warnings would be appreciated.

Default How Far Do you Want to Go?

Hi Micro,

Welcome to the forum.

I suggest going to the NCRS internet site - below[ and searching for a chapter in your area. The local members are the ones to ask.

https://www.ncrs.org/services/chapters.php

As for recommendations: There are several good stories on the forum about restoration now. You have to decide how "restored" you want the car and how much money you want to spend. If the car needs everything you could easily have more in the restoration that the car is worth. What is the current condition of the car?

Post some pictures of your '63. We love pictures and you will get feedback

Phil

If you are willing to do some of the work yourself, you have a wonderful resource for parts in LA - David Sokolowski. I am unable to find his number now so I will follow up tomorrow.'

Stay away from J&D

We have a some good local shops here in OC. I will follow up tomorrow.

David Sokolowaski has all of the original parts for your car (310) 329 5334

McJacks Corvettes - Santa Ana - body paint - interior - mechanical (714) 775 2799

The Corvette Shop Costa Mesa (714) 540 4377 New find for me- I have no direct experience to rate..

We have one other good shop in Huntington Beach, Can't find the info

Do join the NCRS and study the details of your year. Become an expert on the parts and bits so you can direct the final assembly you are looking for.

Good Luck - we are neighbors!
