[C2] vac line

vac line
New vac advance tube not lining up. 1st pic its inline with carb port, going up at an angle. 2nd pic when straight, it positions under the port and up to the second hose rib. Am I supposed to cut and bend the metal line or leave at an angle? Any pics?

It would help if you included the model year and engine option -- it looks like it is a '66-7 L-79 from pics. If so, you probably were supplied with base engine, 300 HP vacuum line where the turns & joggle are lower due to the base engine intake manifold being 'low rise' cast iron vs 'high rise' aluminum.
