Just some advice, use a title that applies to what you’re posting and not your username. It gives us an idea of what you want to know.

jv,
Yes, welcome to the forum!
I assume you're talking about replacing the brushed aluminum face on your door. Here is a pic of my '65 glove box door. You need to drill out these 11 rivets. This job is a bit involved but you can do it. Replacement doors run a little over $300 and there are services out there that will reface your door for you, like Corvette Specialties. They run around $300 for a complete job as well. The plate and install kit are around $70, so if you have the time and inclination, give it a shot.
Good luck!
Greg

Thanks Greg, I bought the kit (no instructions came with it) and drilled out the rivets. Where do I go from here. Do I need to tap the holes for the screws that came with it?

You may want to consider joining the NCRS. There was a NCRS tutorial on how to replace the insert without removing the rivets in order to keep from losing points in judging. I've done several using that procedure and they come out perfect. If you're not having your car judged, then it doesn't matter.
