I can't help you with the markings but every C-2 I've restored had a foot or so of extra cable length stuffed in the large oval hole behind the drivers side kick panel.
Here is the marking I found on my 67. I’m not sure if it’s original but it looks old and it was stuck in adhesive in several places when I removed the carpet.
