1964 convertible. The right rear brake light does not light up. The lamp lights when the headlights are turned on, and the lamp flashes when the turn signal is activated. I have checked the lamp for continuity, (the lamp is good) and also have swapped lamps from the left side to the right side, with still no brake light on the right side. All other lamps, front and back are working. I am thinking I have a bad ground at the right rear, but how do I get to it, and where is it? Any suggestions?

It’s not a ground issue since it works on other functions. Probably in the turn signal switch since current flows through the switch. There was another thread just a few days ago with a similar problem. The thread has a wiring diagram of the switch.
Thanks for the help. I had a look at that thread and that looks like it is probably where the problem is. I'll check it out tomorrow and probably pull the steering wheel.
That is a real good picture of the turn signal mechanism.
I checked out the left side, and the brake light went out when I put the turn signal lever in the left turn position. When I put it in the right turn position, I did not get any illumination of the right side lamp, even with jiggling the lever up and down and back and forth.
Thanks for everyones help on my brake light problem!
I dug into it today and took apart the turn signal switch. I tweaked the contact tang into the same shape as the left side, put it back together and everything is working now! The hardest part was connecting the turn signal switch to the turn signal mechanism, as there was very little space. I imagine there is a trick to doing this (elt me know!) or possiblly you could pull the wires up the steering column a bit, but mine would not budge.
