Default A. C. help needed

Attempting to determine when GM made the switch to the newer (swedged) type of AC compressor during the 1966 production year. Can anyone provide information or examples or information from 66 Corvettes ? Any information or images will be a big help/

Not sure folks here can help........but we can try. Noland's Book on C2 Restoration and the 1966 NCRS Judging Manual are likely your best sources of info.

Dom can also help, but I think you already discussed this with him??

Larry. Dom Did discuss this and he posted images of both types of compressors on another forum. He called the two types early or late but no specific time was discussed. I have observed a January 66 built coupe with the "late" compressor that is dated in December 65. The dates on the compressors are very, very difficult to read when fitted to a useable car (the muffler on the rear of the compressor pretty well hides the casting date) so it is difficult to figure out just when the change happened. Trying to determine if late February built Corvettes were mostly equipped with the "late" or swedged unit so any observations during the winter of 66 will be helpful. Do not know what Noland says about this but the NCRS judging guide gives no mention to identification of the proper compressor ( that I can find) . Not sure about the term of "early vs late" and when "late" began,
