I’m going to sell my diff and trying to find out if everything looks original as I try to be as honest as possible when I sell something. For those of you that have sold diffs before, is it better to be all together or should I take it apart and clean everything real good? There was some sludge in there and I can’t get everywhere to clean it off. I took some brass gun tooth brushes and brake cleaner to the outside to get the caked on oil off from a leak I guess. The car build date is 12-05-66.
"FA" is a 3:70 Positraction rear from a 65-67 Corvette with a big block. The Nov 66 date would make it a 1967 rear. Everything looks good for a December build 67.

Hi Jim. Since my car is not original I had a stronger C3 diff built and will not need this one. Only reason I thought about taking it apart was to clean and inspect the parts I can’t see. I will leave it together and describe what I can see.

Don't know about you guys but if I was looking to buy one, having the cover off to inspect the gears and the side play etc. would be a bonus. Leave the cover off, it'll sell easier.
