Default ‘61 bracket identification help.

Any ideas what these brackets would be for? Looks like they have been added and welded to the chassis rails. About to start tidying up the engine bay prior to the re-built motor going back in. Was about to cut them off, but thought l better ask the question first. Why are they there?

Thanks. Off they go. Curious as to why they were added.

Possibly added as a mid mount for the engine.

Looks like they might have been a motor mount. Old Ansen scattershields have tabs that look like they might match the brackets on your car. Those brackets on the shield were to match the motor mounts on a '57 Chev (maybe 55 & 56 too). Could be your car was raced at one time
