Default 64 RestoMod LS3 Error Codes - engine sputters

I was cruising along in my 64 Restomod when the engine started to sputter and act a bit erratic. The check engine light did not come on but I decided to check the computer just in case and got 2 error codes regarding low voltage to the O2 Sensor banks. Hmmm......
While researching the codes, one trick is to clean the MAF sensor - which I did, without any positive result. There were no vacuum leaks or wiring that was loose so bfore checking into the actual O2 sensors, I decided to replace the AC Delco MAF sensor, clear the codes, and try it again.
SUCCESS !!! That little sensor can cause some rough riding if not working properly. What a difference.

Dan, Did you clear the codes the first time (after you cleaned the MAF)?? Sometimes bad gas, or condensation in your fuel will cause those two codes. The fact that it was both sides, tells me that the O2 sensors are probably good. I have had a MAF go bad, but only one. You would also need to be in open loop (warmed up) for a code to set. You just want to make sure that you clear any codes, always, before you re test. Hope everything is well with your and the family!!

Hi Mike -
Hope all is well with you too! I cannot believe it will be almost 8 years since you built my Corvette - time just flies....

After I cleaned the original MAF sensor, I installed it and cleared out the error codes with fresh gas in the tank. I took her out for a 5 mile run and it ran better for a bit and then it got worse. I then replaced with the NEW MAF sensor, cleared the codes again and did the same 5 mile run with no issues whatsoever.
Hope that does the trick. I will monitor it for a bit to make sure.

Thanks for the tips - as always !!

Dan

Good to know for future reference, my LS3 hasn't missed a beat in 5 years. Luckily when they do the parts are relatively simple and cheap !
