Default ByPass Resistor

I have a 67 L79 with a Petronix in my distributor, I just installed a flamethrower 1.5 ohm coil, they recommend to bypass the resistor, if I remove the two red wires and join them together would this cause a problem. Ian

Connect em both on the same side of the resistor and save having a loose connection that needs shrink tube or other insulation. The resistor is a good terminal block.

Agree with Avispa, move either wire to the other end and put under same screw as other wire. Safer and cleaner, more original looking.

I just ran a jumper on the back of the resistor to invisibly short across it. Not a double E but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once.

Great idea to just bolt them to one side of the resistor, all good and it’s working better than my Delco. Ian
