Man cave addition
I picked up this 57 trunk lid up a couple of months ago for my man cave project. It was White inside and out and a little rough. The lock hole and waterfall were busted out and both hinge plates were bad, in fact one was gone. The fiberglass latch support underneath was busted. Numerous holes were drilled in the wrong places and some were drilled for no purpose at all. After doing some body work, it was ready for paint. I used a cheap industrial paint that is already thinned, so I just had to add hardener. Added a motion detector light and she’s ready for the new year.

Thank you. I bought those at Lowe’s. They are actually closet shelf brackets that I turned upside down. I drilled out the original rivets that held it together so I could change the angle where it attached to the trunk lid. It’s hard to see it in the 1st picture but there’s a small thick aluminum bracket attached to the underside in the middle of the lid that’s attached to the barn for more support.

NOW you post this! A couple of months ago I sold a '57 trunk lid cheap, and gave away a modified midyear hood with a huge scoop on it. Either of them would have worked, and I shamelessly would have copied this! Great idea!
Great idea ! I tried the same thing with a vintage Ferrari roof panel and no matter how much work I put into it I couldn't get it to stop leaking water. (I keed, I keed !)
