Can anyone clarify what color the 1967 two tone Trim Code 450BA is?
My interior is white (seats, door panels, brake box, rear top panels, etc.) and blue (carpet, console, dash). I’m specifically looking to find out what color the seat belts are/were. Unfortunately I have a set of black replacement belts from 1974 in the car presently and I’m trying to locate bow-tie correct belts/buckles in the right color. Chevy Corvette 1967 brochure lists “white/bright blue” for interior, however I’ve seen other GM, books, and various forum posts/docs that say “blue”, “bright blue” or “medium blue” for the 450 trim code.
EDIT Update: for those following this thread with interest, after posting my question, I came across this thread that tells more regarding the uses of blue in a 66 interior and offering a possible explanation as to why I see different blues in what I receive and see in my original parts. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-of-blue.html
For 1967 model, 450BA code is White/Blue Vinyl for a convertible, that includes BASE and excludes A31 (Power windows), A82 (Headrests), A85 (Shoulder belts), C07 (Aux Hardtop), AND M35 (Auto trans). The interior blue has 3 various shades, which are: Bright Blue (PPG #13071 3%gloss), Medium Bright Blue (PPG # 13223 60% gloss), and Dark Bright Blue (PPG# 13228, 3% gloss). The belts should be the same color/shade as a 67 Corvette with Interior Codes 414/415 Bright Blue Vinyl/Leather.
I would contact seat belt suppliers to get the correct shade. Snake-Oyl and Santorelli in New Jersey will have this info and can supply the correct original belts. If you want lower cost reproductions call or look up Corvette America.
Larry
EDIT: NCRS Judging Manual provides no special color guidance on seat belts other than as part of the interior color. But the two (or three) sources I provided should have pics and you can see for yourself. Or Google "1967 Corvette with Bright Blue Interior" or check ProTeam website. Again, the seat belt color/shade will be the same as for the Bright Blue, which is quite common.

Thank you, this is the detailed trim code clarity info I am after. Sounds like “bright blue” for the seat belts is the target for me. I’ve ordered from the major parts suppliers in the past, and have been disappointed in the color listed as bright blue. I have found one co. that makes the correct bow-tie buckle and he is sending me some swatches to review (bright blue and medium). I’ll follow up with Snake-Oyl and Santorelli directly as well. Their site doesn’t seem to show offering the right belt for my car (bow-tie buckle or restored for corvette available).
Beautiful shot. Thank you Larry. Would you say your belts match your console color closely, exactly, or a stark difference in color? I received belts and swatches from the maker of those sold by Corvette America (and I’m told are the same from other suppliers like Ecklers, Corvette Central, etc.) and Id say they were a stark difference from my console color (bright blue and “closely” matches the dash and lower foot well parts).
Awesome thank you. This is a great shot of the color and contrast as well. My colors match this picture and he previous posted picture well (minus my black GM replacement belts - lol).
The bow-tie emblem change like pictured in Emdollers post (aluminum buckle and blue bow-tie button) is what I’m after. Late 66 through 67 (car born January 16, 1967).
In the PPG interior color codes I posted in #3, the 60% gloss is what most of the lower cabin areas of the car would be painted, also including windshield upper and side garnish. The 3% gloss is used for for areas the sun will reach and reflect off of such as windshield lower garnish, dash speaker grill, etc........and also used in jack stowage area.
I do not know if the gloss level was the only difference in the two formulas, or if there is also a change in shade/color. Not sure about where the 3% low gloss dark blue went.....but looking at Ed's pics, maybe that is the console color. The low gloss in this area would reduce glare to the driver.
