I got this awhile back and didn't realize it wasn't for my 66 until yesterday, since it's for a 63 is there anything that signifies it is in fact for a corvette? Is it anymore valuable than a 693, the alternator that I should have?
This document may give you some additional info regarding the '63 alternators. If there is evidence of the green ink stamp on the alternator or the correct part numbers on the diodes, it would certainly have additional value to certain '63 Corvette owners.
Looks like a April 15, 1963 alternator, but you probably knew that already.
Yeah, I got that part. The housing doesn't have any colored stamp that I can see. This came off a 1966 L79 car with TI, and has a 2 groove pulley, what would the 2nd groove be for?
It may have been through a rebuilder at some point in it's life. I am not certain the rear half is original to a 628 with it's #'s stamped on the front half plus the two groove pulley was not used on any Corvette 628 alternators and I don't think passenger car either but not 100%.
