The 365hp is looking good
All back to original spec, solids, roller tip rockers, just waiting on a few little odds and ends.

Took mine to Cars and Coffee this morning....I absolutely love this motor! When you get the car back together, if you're not dead set on stock, I HIGHLY recommend the magna flow mufflers from Corvette Central. They have a very nice, aggressive idle and growl when you get on it, but have no drone and are boarder line quiet at cruise. With the 3.73 gears, my car holds right at 3000 RPM at 70 mph on the highway, and my wife and I can have a normal conversation. The wind noise is actually louder than the exhaust.

Agree with flynavy30, the Magna Flow mufflers sound outstanding.
Installed them on my 64 Coupe, 365 hp, when completed frame off last year.
They produce a nice mellow rumble, that louden nicely as rpm's increase!
Agree, the 327/365 is a wonderful engine

Rob,
Very nice job on your 365, it looks great.
Here is a picture of mine, I went with roller rockers, and lifters. Paired with a Comp Cams hydraulic shaft. Similar grind to factory but a little more low end torque and a little more vacuum to satisfy my funny looking carburetor.

I cant take credit on the motor, Tom Tignanelli did the motor, our local Detroit old school motor guru of Mopar UFO fame from the early 60's on, so I'm sure the motor is done very well internally. Upgraded to Icon pistons & Eagle rods, stock forged crank is still standard, .030 over, measured 11:1, as far as exhaust, I like loud, and I picked up a set of factory sidepipe covers & I think I'll try side exhaust for a while, love the look, & if I dont like it the sound, I'll probably go back to undercar exhaust. I am also thinking of adding the removable crossmember, as I have the kit already for that. Which means a 5 speed will happen too, or at least easy clutch changes on the muncie. The 3:70 rear is already in, all fresh and ready to go, offset trailing arms, disks all 4 corners & a dual master cylinder. Just trying to make it nice top to bottom, and not worry about how it left the factory.

Engine well done
FWIW, consider installing the driver side choke clean air tube especially and spark plug heat shields before installing your engine. You will understand why later if not, especially the clean air tube. I did on my 64, but need to install one on the 65 and am not sure it can be done.

Awesome nice pictures - like my 365 but yours looks by far better, "newer"
In your first post you wrote "All back to original spec, solids, roller tip rockers, just waiting on a few little odds and ends."
Was the 365 genuinely equipped with roller tip rockers? My engine has roller rockers as well but I thought one prev. owner upgrated to them

Original spec referring to, at some point in prior ownership, it was de-tuned to a smaller hydraulic cam instead of the solid lifters & it didnt feel like it had the power it should have, so I measured the lift on the exhaust it was something like .452, which was well under what the 30-30 cam has, so I yanked it and disassembled it. It still had the 11-1 pistons, forged crank, and original rods, and all the 365 parts externally. So it ran fine, but it didnt feel like 365hp, so now that it is, I say it's back to "original spec" meaning It has the solid lifters & correct 30-30 cam, correct measured compression, but not so much "original parts" internally.

In building my L76 (slowly) I'm not going all OEM internally - for example went with Eagle rods for one thing. Can't see it from the outside - will look like an original L76 anyways. Not going with roller rockers, though (too cheap and not convinced on the costs to benefit ratio for a street SBC - YMMV).
