Yes..............Many have done it. I personally did my 67................and 66-67 are essentially the same in this area.

I'm in the middle of this right now. The front-most clip on the straight part of the frame is a huge pain in the butt. Without lifting the body, I can't get the bolt out...the footwell area hangs down in the way. This weekend I'm going to try to get a small metal saw in there and cut the bolt down.
I'm doing the dual-reservoir master cylinder upgrade, and replacing the lines at the same time.
And Bair's just shipped my trailing arms back. Ordering all new bushings for the rest of the rear, since I did the front last year.
And my parking brake handle won't release all the way so I have to sort that out too.

Godholio:

I also had one bolt that would not come out due to fiberglass interference.

What I did was use sidecuts to remove the old clip and the brake line. I left the bolt halfway unthreaded at this point, with the bolt head up against the fiberglass. I then made up a new clip for the new brake line which had a very narrow groove cut into the bolt hole section, so that I could slide it over the shank of the bolt....and into the bolt hole. Then I tightened the bolt down and the bolt head covered the groove and held the clip and new brake tubing.

Having or making a "thin" wrench for the bolts helped me better access and loosen/tighten the bolts. A thin ignition wrench (from years ago) was what I actually used for my car.....but you can possibly buy or make one if needed.

What did you use to make those cuts to get the old clip out?

Craftsman side cutter pliers to start the cut(s).......and a needle nose pliers to bend and pull the metal in the clip apart. There is not much metal to have to "shear" in these brake line clips.

Yeah that did it. I really didn't think the side cutters would get in there, and I was ALMOST right. Got just enough to snip the clip. Thanks!
