Default Coil

I ordered a Genuine GM reproduction coil from one of the many vendors, it came today, but the terminals are backwards from my original. Do you all think that's a big deal or not? It cost 90 dollars. I just wanted the exact same part that came on my 65.

if you "wanted the exact same part that came on your 65", the oriental repo coil isn't the answer. it'll have stainless steel studs in addition to the differences in the bakelite towers. and the real Delcos are way more reliable than the chineese repos. mike

Agree with Mike. The GM Restoration coils have experienced reliability and function issues. You purchased a black metal can and the DR logo on the top.

If you want to buy a coil that should last for years, seek out NOS or excellent used. Or perhaps a NAPA Echlin equivalent.

I'll agree with you 100%, that being said, wonder where a feller could find a part like that?

it was the original 202, left the key on the other night, all night and fried the coil. It was SO hot that the oil was coming out of it

Here is one. About the same cost. I don't know seller, but he/she has 100% rating. From Iowa.

Larry

PS: Ebay also have a used one at 1/2 the price............may be worth a shot. Also post a WTB ad in our C1/C2 Forum. NCRS Driveline also has many ads for these coils for sale. Also David S. from California should be a source.
