Brought a 66 vert restomod home today. Noticed that the right vent window doesn’t close tightly. I can see a bit of light through seal and I can manually feel the glass needs to pivot several more degrees. Before I take the door panel off I figured I’d ask about what I’m getting into. Will I find adjustments, limiters, etc. ?
In addition does it look like the vent weatherstrip may have been replaced in recent years. If so it's typical that there is a lot of resistance to the glass seating in the seal at firs and the glass needs some push while turning the crank. On mine, it took several years but finally the vent seal conformed to where it would close normally. But as noted damick if the regulator gears are worn that will be working against you too.
Here is a link below to what you likely will need. Don't forget that there is a difference in your order for a coupe versus a convertible. Like dcamick said, taking the regulator out and putting it back in is much more difficult than actually doing the rebuild of the worn/broken regulator. Good Luck with it. C.J.
Here is a link to someone here on the Forum selling exactly what you may have to take out of your door and rebuild. Or you could buy a new pair from this gentleman and not worry about doing a rebuild.
